What is peripheral neuropathy?

The peripheral nervous system is responsible for connecting the nerves from the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body. Due to an injury or an infection, the nerves can malfunction and disrupt the normal pathway of nerve impulses. This nerve malfunctioning is termed as peripheral neuropathy.
