The 24 hour ambulatory BP monitoring is a method where high blood pressure is taken as you move around, living your normal daily life. It is done with a method called ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.

Why is 24 Hr Ambulatory BP monitoring required?

• to check varying blood pressure throughout the day
• To check whether the medicine is controlling your blood pressure
• To check Blood pressure is high at night or during day on an average

Care needed

During 24 hours the blood monitoring machine should be working properly. The tube to the machine should not be twisted or bent. When the machine beeps or is ready with the reading you should

• Sit down
• Keep the cuff at the same level as your heart
• The arm should be steady
• Do not talk or cross your legs during the recording
• Do not drive for the duration of your monitoring
